Dunkelvolk helped sponsor an Urban Farm Building outside of Denver, Colorado this summer for the not-for-profit FEED Denver. Built by students from the University of Colorado Denver, the new buildings utilize mostly salvaged materials to create functional, and quite elegant, additions to the working farm.
FEED Denver builds community-based urban greenhouse farms and markets to empower people to feed and sustain themselves and their communities through improving year-round access to fresh food, creating training opportunities and jobs for youth and adults, and supporting food production micro-enterprise all of which impact our local economy while strengthening and securing the foodshed of Metropolitan Denver.
This structure makes a bold statement about the efforts of incorporating sustainability as part of the FEED Denver program and Dunkelvolk is proud to have been able to be a part! Check out feeddenver.com to learn more.
