When did you start competing?:
At about 15 years of age.

Why did you start your sport?:
It was alluring, from skating to surfing it was an instant addiction once i saw and tried these sports, i started skating when i was 7 years old, boogieboarding around 8, then surfing at 11.

Where have you competed?:
Im a freesurfer mostly but ive competed in Mexico, Costa Rica, California, Florida and PR.

Most memorable story:
Everytime i get back to the mainland USA, i get taken into a big room by immigration because there is a “carlos ramirez” that is a serial killer and they always check up on me. They usually let me go fast, “it’s just your name” they say. It’s been happening for the last 4 years, so im already use to it, went through it last week in Miami Int airport after getting in from central america!

Other hobbies:
I like to stretch a lot and do yoga. Also i like to paint on canvas weird crappy art monsters and sometimes on my boards too, its feels like im melting when im painting which is cool. i like to skate too, i ride for sector nizzle.

Superstitions:
I was way more superstitious back in the day as a grom, now im just more paranoid.

Most influenced in your riding:
Id have to go with Occy and Slates and Tommy Carroll as a grom, Andy, Wardo and Cory are my favs from my age group, and now its like Dane, Marzo, Juligan and those freaks, oh that reminds me i ride for dc too…

Most admired in your sport:
I admire dudes like Laird and the early guys with no leash that would paddle out at huge Sunset and Waimea back in the 50′s.

Why?:
They are breaking boundaries in waves of high consequence, the dudes with no leash in the 50′s had no life vest, no jet-ski assists and again no leash, once they fell of their boards, these guys where all alone…scary, mad respect.

Awards won:
I won a contest as a kid. Made finals in all volcom airshows ive entered here in pr. i dont like surf contests.

Who I’d like to meet:
Smart cats, like Markeaveli and Michelangelo, Leo Da Vinci, u know those renaissance cats. They could make art, buildings, discover elements and invent music and airplanes, these dudes were most certainly not normal, u can learn a lot from these cats.

Music/Movies:
Music: Rap like young money to fat joe to ghostface. Movies: comedies are the shiznit, Dont Mess with The Zohan to Spaceballs to Napoleon D and of course classics like, Colors, Scarface and Goodfellas.

Favorite Break:
Locally in PR its Chatarra hands down! But that hardly breaks so its La Punta…Beef Agents in the house! Internationally i like Rockies and Sunset a lot and in central/south america Costa and Peru have killer points, also snapper rocks….

Favorite food:
Latin food like cuban, puerto rican and spanish, mad rices, black and red beans and mad different meats!
