DOB: 12/15/90
Place of Birth: Cali, Columbia
Marital Status: Single
Number of Kids: Pending
When Did You Start: I started way before I had a chest full of hair, when the English was just Spanglish. Good friend Marc Shusten pull me on my skateboard and got me to try Le wakeboarding. It was love at first site.
Where Have You Competed: Blessed to travel and do what I love. To compete with the Germans, Philippinos, South Africans, that is the biggest driving force and push to my riding. I’ve competed in Germany, Austria, Philippines, Turkey, throughout the USA, Berlin, Hungary, Amsterdam, South America, and going to France to add to the list. Wee, wee.
When Did You Start Competing: After my first year riding I entered my first small contest at my home cable park Ski Rixen.
Most Memorable Story: My most memorable story would have to be during my time in Hungary. We hung at Balaton Lake, a very alive, club-filled part of the city and we had a group of 20 wakeboarders roaming the streets. Our luck, a group of gypsies got into an argument with one of our buddies. One insult become two fists, two fists became 20 wakeboarders and a few gypsies in a full blown fight. A few arrests later and a sweet hangover experience made this night one to remember.
Current Sponsors: Family first (Mom & Dad), Ski Rixen, Cable-Addicts, CTRL Wakeboards, Dunkelvolk
Other Hobbies: I’m an adrenaline junkie. Anything that pushes me physically and mentally. Kiteboarding, Skateboarding, Guitar, Photography, Surfing, Gym, Trampoline, Friends & Family
Superstitions: …(Rubs chin)…I usually have one pair of Spongebob boxers that I wear in all contests. And having a good gripy handle.
Most Influence on Wakeboarding: My biggest influence is my friends I have made around the world and seeing the little upcoming pros at my home.
Favorite Wakeboarders: Rob Mapp for going so massive, Bennhard Hintenberger, Lion Sofer, Nick Davier, I think I have one from every country.
Why: They have all given me a different understanding and piece of style. Rob showed me how to load and go big. Lion gave me guidance on many of my technical tricks I d now. They all really just always pushed and motivated my riding.
Results: A few here and there, I see myself more as a free rider, it’s when I am the most comfortable and loose on the water. My biggest award would be 3rd in the World Championships in the Philippines in 2008.
Who I’d Like to Meet: I’d like to meet an alien and ask him to ride my board while I fly around the space continuum.
Music: My Spanish grassroots, techno, indie, dance, alternative, anything that makes my foot tap. tap. tap.
Favorite Park: My home cable always! Ski Rixen. Turkey is beautiful and has great tea. Philippines halfway around el Mundo; good hearted people.
Movies: Sci Fi, Scary, Suspenseful, Comedies, Love documentaries
Favorite Food: Spanish Food!
